I bought this for its 160gsm paper and it doesn’t disappoint. Nothing bleeds or ghosts, the binding is lovely and the book opens flat during use (ahhhh!). I hope that the font used for page numbers in future runs is something lighter and smaller. I would prefer to write my own index page heading, too, but it’s not a deal breaker. The pen test page in back is a really nice touch - I always create one in my journals. Overall, I’m a very satisfied first-time customer.
Fantastic bullet journal. Paper is thick and there is no ghosting. I love the two bookmarks, the elastic close and the pen holder. There is also an index page and a pen test page.
Received my journal and it was just like the description. Love the white paper and the pages at the back of the journal to try out different pens and texts. Great to write on and having two bookmarks and a pen holder is fantastic. Will be my journal from now on.
I adore my esc.goods dot grid notebook. I use it for bujoing and have found it handles a variety of mediums other notebooks dont - Including but not limited too Fountain pens and ink, Premium dye ink pads, versafine ink pads, memnto ink, chalk ink, light-medium watercolouring, acrylic paint pens, highlighters, gelly rolls / gel pens, crayola super tips, tombow dual tip & twin tone markers, chameleon markers, fineliners, pigment ink multiliners... the list goes on! Most page spreads have perfectly aligned dot grid over both pages, there are a few instances where they are a little out, and this tends to be when one "signature" faces another - but none have been terribly mis-aligned. The customer service has been beyond reproach. The reason I would deduct a half star, is because the grey book with blue elastic/pen loop is a little non-sensical for me when only introducing a single colour notebook to start with - I feel grey on grey, or blue on blue, or even black with the grey would give it a far more polished, modern and chic look. Likewise the cover leaves me with that "someone ran their fingers down a chalk board" feeling - I feel a textured covering like the black notebook, or a standard covering would have been advantageous. I also believe it would have 'worn' better (as this one is prone to look 'grubby') In all, I do love this notebook, and would happily re-purchase this book, over similar, overseas branded 160gsm dot grid notebooks.
I love the feel of the cover and the pages. The paper is 160GSM so it is very tolerant of things like markers and watercolour, but like most heavy papers not all fountain pens play nice, so testing is required. the inclusion of index and pen test pages makes planning the book so much easier. already numbered pages reduce set up times, and the true A5 means that there's less guesswork in if a spread will work. What makes this book superior to other premium brands in my experience is that the dot grid on this book lines up across the pages, whereas other "premium brand" journals can have whole signatures that won't line up. The only reason this isn't a 5 star is that I would love some extra cover choices. IE the black cover with white pages as well, and maybe some other colours. but really that's only a fraction of a star, and this review won't let me do that. WILL buy again.
